Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday marked the 8th anniversary since the signing of Georgia’s Association Agreement with the European Union, calling it “successful in unleashing the potential of Europeanisation" of Georgia.
Papuashvili stressed the Agreement with the EU had upgraded the partnership between the country and the bloc to a “qualitatively new level”.

He also credited the deal with enabling Georgia to “transform itself into a European state”.
Georgia signed the Association Agreement, which included the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area deal, with the European Union in 2014.
