Diplomats including the European Union Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell, United States Ambassador Kelly Degnan and her French and German counterparts Diego Colas and Hubert Knirsch on Thursday joined a rally in support of Georgia’s continued European integration in Tbilisi.
The officials were among Georgian citizens, representatives of some opposition parties and other participants in the event called on short notice by Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Europe Square in the capital.
We believe that the fate and perspective of Georgia is in Europe [...] Today, I am not the President here - I am a citizen who feels for the country and who believes that the country has no other future", Zourabichvili told local press at the gathering.
