Georgia reports 13,150 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 23.80%

Georgia has reported 13,150 new Covid-19 cases, 8,503 recoveries, and 35 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past seven days stands at 23.80%.

Overall 151,139 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 45,623 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 27,148 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,475 were PCR tests. 

1,175,923 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,009,778 of 1,175,923 patients have recovered, while 14,980 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,689 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 31.

The 13,150 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 7,078 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,734 cases 
  • Imereti - 1,740 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 661 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 554 cases 
  • Guria - 119 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 640 cases 
  • Kakheti - 206 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 136 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 268 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 14 cases

A total of 5,433 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,034 patients are in a critical condition out of which 268 are on artificial ventilation.

143,706 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,333,606 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,219,721 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.5% of the country’s adult population.
