Georgia’s Shota Mishvelidze claimed three medals including a gold at the European Weightlifting Championships in Albania’s capital city of Tirana on Monday.
Mishvelidze earned the gold in the 67 kg weight category after lifting 135, 139 and 142 kg in snatch.
He also claimed a bronze after lifting 165 kg in jerk and silver medal in the combined results, where his tally stood at 307 kg.
The result is a new record for a Georgian athlete and exceeds the previous score - by fellow weightlifter Goga Chkheidze at last year’s European Championships - by two kilograms.
The Georgian athlete switched from 61 to 76 kg weight category before the continental championship.
