The Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine has voiced a “wish to open a second front” of the war with Russia in Georgia and Moldova, Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Friday in comments at the Parliament.
The Government head challenged opposition MPs at the legislative body by asking them if they had an “elementary emotion or protest” over the statement of the Ukrainian official, and appealed to them to declare whether their loyalty lay with Georgia “or with another state, or states”.
Garibashvili also reminded the lawmakers of comments by Oleksyi Arestovych, an advisor to the Ukrainian President, on the Georgian Government not being a “government of war” that could help Ukraine in the conflict, and on a hypothetical scenario of Georgia joining the war if the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili were in power.

Andrei Kasyanov, the Charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, was summoned on Monday to the Georgian foreign office over the claims of the Intelligence Service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine about alleged talks between Russia and Georgia over re-export of Russian goods to third countries.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili on Saturday rejected the “absurd accusations and insults” about his Government’s stance on the Ukraine war from the Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych, saying the statements were “damaging relations” between the two nations.
Comments by Ukrainian Presidential advisor Oleksiy Arestovych confirm that if the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili were in power in Georgia, the country would be embroiled in a war, Thea Tsulukiani, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Culture Minister, said on Tuesday.
