NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday stressed the alliance’s “full support” for sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to choose foreign policy path for “every nation” including Georgia, following a meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Brussels.
In a tweet following the discussion between the two officials, Stoltenberg said the meeting had addressed Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine and emphasised the status of Georgia as NATO’s close partner.

In his own comments, Garibashvili noted the “fruitful” discussion with the Secretary General on security issues and the importance of enhanced partnership between his country and the alliance.

The parties also noted the necessity of deepening cooperation in “all possible formats” for ensuring peace and stability in the Black Sea region and beyond.
