Over 1,000 participants turned up for this year’s Wings for Life charity run edition in Georgia, with the country joining the race’s worldwide events on Sunday.

With pandemic restrictions prompting a switch from group to individual mileage contest for the 2022 edition, organisers used an app for following and measuring the competition.

In the Tbilisi edition, contestants were invited to the capital’s Dinamo Arena stadium, where last year’s run was organised by Wings for Life World Run Ambassador Giorgi Danelia.

Competitors for the Tbilisi run, from different nationalities, entered both individually and on behalf of teams.

Both professional athletes and amateur runners aged above 18 entered the event, which was also open for persons with disabilities who used wheelchairs in the race.
