Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili has called on the companies working to import products from the Turkish pharmaceutical market "on time", in the latest update on the government initiative to reduce the cost of drugs in Georgia with the move.

As promised, we have opened the Turkish market - now we expect the import of high-quality and cheap medicines on time," Garibashvili said at the government meeting on Monday, adding the government was monitoring the process.

[Health] minister Zurab Azarashvili is actively involved in the process. I would like to call on the importers to import these medications in time - this, in our opinion, will reduce the [local] prices of medication very soon”, the head of the government said.
