PM wishes “peace, stability” to citizens on Easter

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated the public on the Orthodox Easter and wished them peace and stability on Sunday.

Speaking to the media at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, where a service was held to mark the celebration, he said the date was associated with “hope, renewal and belief in a better tomorrow.”

I want to wish you all a tomorrow that brings peace and renewal” Garibashvili said from the Cathedral where he attended the liturgy along with his wife. The service began around 11 p.m. on Saturday and continued until the early hours of Sunday.

Prior to the service, parishioners gathered in the Cathedral, listened to the Easter Epistle of the Georgian Patriarch Ilia II. Garibashvili called the address ​​“wise and thoughtful”.

Orthodox Christians in Georgia and worldwide are celebrating Easter today.
