Georgia reports 6,351 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 10.9%

Georgia has reported 6,351 new Covid-19 cases, 3,043 recoveries, and 27 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 10.9%.

Overall 61,080 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 38,306 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,896 of the 38,306 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 19,410 were PCR tests. 

1,021,943 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 946,255 of 1,021,943 patients have recovered, while 14,582 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,396 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 20.

The 6,351 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 3,742 cases 
  • Adjara - 903 cases 
  • Imereti - 510 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 196 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 238 cases 
  • Guria - 92 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 211 cases 
  • Kakheti - 187 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 130 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 134 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 8 cases

A total of 4,443 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,010 of the 4,443 patients are in critical condition. 276 of the 1,010 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

54,891 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,313,388 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,200,091 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 41.8% of the adult population.
