Tbilisi City Hall has purchased seven additional flats for homeless families as part of its housing programme for residents of the capital, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced on Wednesday.

Kaladze said a total of 60 families would be provided with houses this year within the programme, adding citizens could apply to district administrations and the City Hall for information on obtaining the homeless status.

In total, 20 flats have been purchased by the city municipality so far under the programme, Kaladze said, calling the process “successful.”

The Mayor also talked about cases of illegal seizure of state lands and carrying out of construction works on them, saying the developments were “categorically unacceptable” and adding relevant agencies were monitoring them.
