Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk thank Dinamo Tbilisi counterparts for humanitarian aid

Shakhtar Donetsk, the Ukrainian football club based in the east of the country, has thanked Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi for humanitarian aid sent to Ukraine for supporting those affected by Russia’s military aggression on the country.
The Georgian club on Tuesday sent essential goods, including mattresses, blankets and pillows, for the internally displaced persons kept at the Arena Lviv football stadium in Ukraine.
Last month the Georgian Football Federation and the country’s national team also sent humanitarian aid, including first aid items, medical equipment, various types of medicines and baby food, to Ukraine.
The Russian invasion, which started on February 25, has killed 165 children and injured 266 in the country.
The Georgia Rugby Union has launched an initiative to collect humanitarian aid to support Ukrainian citizens affected by the war. In a post published on Facebook, the national body for the sport asked the public to deliver non-perishable food, medicines, diapers and personal hygiene items for children and adults to addresses in three cities across Georgia.
The Georgian Football Federation (GFF) and the national team will send humanitarian aid including first aid items, medical equipment, various types of medicines and baby food to Ukraine, the GFF said on Tuesday.
The Red Cross Society of Georgia has sent 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in support of the people affected by war, the organisation announced on Monday.
Dozens of Ukrainian citizens stranded in Georgia by the outbreak of hostilities in their home country have received products of high necessity from Georgian companies involved in the #produceforUkraine campaign, Mikheil Khidureli, Director of the Enterprise Georgia state programme, said on Thursday.
