Georgia has received 229.5 million USD from abroad in December 2021, which is 14.9% more than the amount received in December 2020, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reports.
The largest remittance senders were Russia (39.70 million USD), Italy (37.88 million USD) and the United States (26.65 million USD).

The Consumer Price Index in December 2021 grew by 0.3% compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate in Georgia stood at 13.9%, the latest inflation data of the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) show.
Georgia’s gross external debt is up 130.9 million USD quarter-on-quarter, amounting to 21.0 billion USD as of September 30, 2021, the National bank of Georgia (NBG) says. Gross external debt is currently equal to 120% of annual GDP.
Georgia has received $207.3 million from abroad in November 2021, which is 22% more than the amount received in November 2020, the National Bank of Georgia reports.
Georgia has received $204.9 million from abroad in August 2021 which is 11.2% more than the amount received in August 2020, the National Bank of Georgia reports. The largest remittance senders were Russia ($37.65 million), Italy ($33.62 million) and the United States ($24.62 million).
Remittances to Georgia from abroad hit $168.8 million in January 2022, a 12.7 percent increase on the corresponding figure from January 2021, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) announced on Tuesday.
Commercial banks in Georgia loaned 43.03 billion GEL and received deposits of 37.16 billion GEL in December 2021, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) says. The volume of loans has increased by 1.63 billion GEL (3.93%) in December compared to the same period last year. The number of deposits also increased by 1.42 billion GEL (3.96%) month-on-month.
