Georgia reports 208 new cases of coronavirus, 2 deaths

Georgia has reported 208 new Covid-19 cases, 685 recoveries, and two deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 2.82 percent. 

Overall 4,003 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 5,184 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 3,587 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 1,597 were PCR tests. 

1,649,430 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,628,643 of 1,649,430 patients have recovered, while 16,758 have died from the virus.

The 208 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 106 cases 
  • Adjara - 10 cases 
  • Imereti - 16 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 16 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 4 cases 
  • Guria - 14 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 19 cases 
  • Kakheti - 14 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 3 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 1 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 5 cases

A total of 491 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 127 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

3,512 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,361,922 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,257,304 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.8 percent of the country’s adult population and 242,727 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
