Georgia reports 616 new cases of coronavirus of 31,947 tests

Georgia has reported 616 new cases of coronavirus, 268 recoveries and five deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total 31,947 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours, of which 20,364 were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,583 were PCR tests.
The new cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 319 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 61 cases
- Imereti - 58 cases
- Adjara - 50 cases
- Shida Kartli - 35 cases
- Kakheti - 25 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 20 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 17 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 15 cases
- Guria - 14 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 2 cases
Currently 4,790 individuals remain infected with Covid-19, of which 1,674 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals. 331 patients are in critical condition and 65 of them are on artificial ventilation.
In total 2,855 individuals take treatment at home, 270 patients are in quarantine facilities and 8,165 individuals are in self-isolation.
The country has had 281,761 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
In total 273,167 individuals have recovered from coronavirus in Georgia and 3,778 deaths.
The de-facto leadership of Russian occupied Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) have rejected an offer from Tbilisi to vaccinate health workers and people above 65. Both occupied regions have stated in response to the offer from the Georgian officials earlier today that they are expecting to receive ‘reliable’ vaccines from Russia.
Mass Covid-19 immunisation is expected to start in Georgia in July, announces Head of the Georgian National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze, adding that it does not mean that getting the vaccination against coronavirus will become mandatory.
Georgia has reported 673 new cases of coronavirus, 298 recoveries and eight deaths in the past 24 hours.30,751 tests have been conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 23,361 of the 30,751 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 7,390 were PCR tests. The country has had 281,145 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 272,899 of the 281,145 patients have recovered, while 3,773 have died of the virus. Currently 4,447 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.
