The largest share of annual gross domestic product (GDP) of Georgia by region is held by the capital city of Tbilisi with 50.5%, followed by the regions of Adjara (8.9%) and Imereti (8.4%), the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.
The GDP of Georgia at current prices amounted to 49.26 billion GEL (about 15.9$bln/€14bln) in 2020, Geostat says.
GDP by regions of Georgia are as followed:
- Tbilisi - 21.7 billion GEL (50.5%)
- Adjara - 3.8 billion GEL (8.9%)
- Imereti - 3.6 billion GEL (8.4%)
- Kvemo Kartli - 3.4 billion GEL (8%)
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 2.7 billion GEL (6.4%)
- Kakheti - 2.2 billion GEL (5.1%)
- Shida Kartli - 1.9 billion GEL (4.4%)
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 1.4 billion GEL (3.5%)
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 1.1 billion GEL (2.6%)
- Guria - 680 million GEL (1.6%)
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 250 million GEL (0.6%)

The largest GDP contributing activities in Tbilisi were:
- Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (22.8%)
- Real estate activities (12.8%)
- Construction (11.5%)
In Adjara, which is the second region of Georgia in terms of value-added volume, the primary sectors included:
- Real estate activities (16.2%)
- Construction (14%)
- Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (10.1%)
In Imereti the main spheres of economic activities were:
- Agriculture, forestry and fishing (14%)
- Manufacturing (12.9%)
- Real estate activities (12.2%)
Meanwhile, in Kvemo Kartli the following sectors were the largest:
- Manufacturing (25.5%)
- Agriculture, forestry and fishing (17.3%)
- Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (7.9%)
