Georgian police have found a letter in the office of former Deputy Head of the National Environment Agency and President of Economic Transformation Centre (ECT) Ramaz Gerliani who went missing on December 19 following a dispute with a policeman in which he allegedly asks God for forgiveness, saying he ‘endured a lot’ and ‘is tired,’ IPN news agency reports.
Gerliani’s cell phone was also found in his office with the password provided in writing.
Gerliani accused Officer Giorgi Gogniashvili of blackmail and invasion of private property in his Facebook post on December 19, which is currently no longer available.
He stated that he had found an armed Gogniashvili in his apartment on November 14, who interrogated him under ‘false pretences,’ which he reported to the police that same day.
Family members of Gerliani reported yesterday that his car was found near Avchala police department with an open door and the keys inside the vehicle.
Ramaz Gerliani also stated that Gogniashvili collected personal information about him and his family members 'through the police system and various means.’
Gerliani’s brother Romanoz Gerliani told IPN that Gerliani’s phone was switched off following the publication of the post about Gogniashvili.
An investigation is underway into kidnapping.
