Firefighter dies after falling off fire truck ladder in Batumi

Firefighter Tornike Kiparoidze, a father of one, has died after falling off a fire truck ladder when he was trying to extinguish a fire in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi today.

The press office of the Emergency Management Service reports that the firefighter was transported to a local hospital by emergency vehicle, but doctors were unable to save him.

Tornike Kiparoidze had been working in the Emergency Management Service as a firefighter for a year.
