Markets, public transport resume operations in Georgia today

Markets and public transport have resumed operations across Georgia starting today, however will be closed on weekends due to Covid-19 restrictions, announces the government of Georgia.
There will be several Covid-19 related regulations both in markets as well as in public transport: wearing a facemask will be mandatory, and switching on air conditioning and heating is prohibited in buses.
Open markets, public transport will not work on the weekends.
Gotsiridze metro station, Turtle Lake and Rike-Narikala ropeways are exceptions, as they will remain closed due to repairs.
The movement of private vehicles on bus lanes, which was allowed while the movement of public transport was suspended, is banned again starting today.
Public transport was not serving passengers due to the spread of the coronavirus since November 28, 2020.
Georgia has reported 204 new cases of coronavirus, 736 recoveries and 15 deaths in the past 24 hours. Restaurant business representatives have changed their mind to resume operations tomorrow despite the Covid-19 restrictions following the decision of the government of Georgia which allows restaurants to provide their services only in open areas starting February 15.
The Georgian government has announced the lifting of several coronavirus-related restrictions due to the decrease in daily infections. Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia stated earlier today that all public transport around the country will resume operations starting February 8, as well as open markets. Starting February 15 all food facilities, including restaurants will be able to provide their service only in open areas.
