Georgia celebrates the 76th anniversary of the United Nations. October 24 marks the anniversary of the day in 1945 when the UN Charter entered into force.
Established on October 24, 1945 the UN has been supporting peace and security, human rights, economic development and humanitarian assistance across the whole world.
The Georgian foreign ministry has tweeted:

Georgia was elected as a member of the Executive Board of UN-WOMEN yesterday and will keep the position for three years, the Georgian Foreign Ministry announced today.
Voting was held during the United Nations Economic and Social Council meeting in New York and Georgia was elected to one of two vacant seats allocated for Eastern European countries.
25 years ago on this day Georgia became a member of the United Nations (UN). Attending the UN Day reception today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili addressed the representatives of the diplomatic corps and international and non-governmental organisations.
Georgia has achieved a historic milestone and been granted a two-year membership to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), making it one of 47 member states responsible for promoting and protecting human rights around the world.
