Georgian law enforcers have detained two individuals, identified only as Z.Ch. and N.J., for visa fraud in Tbilisi.

Police found that the detainees promised several Georgian citizens to create forged US visa documents in exchange for a certain amount of money. Z.CH and N.J. received money and stopped contacting the citizens afterwards.

In total, the detainees received 145,000 GEL (about $ 43,708) through the fraudulent scheme.

The crime is punishable by six to nine years in prison.

The press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that the detained individuals were convicted in the past for similar crimes.
