The General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged two individuals, an owner and an employee of a restaurant located on Aghmashenebeli Avenue in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi, for defrauding tourists.
The investigation found that the owner and an employee of the restaurant ordered a large amount of expensive drinks and food without the consent of the clients, which they did not actually deliver to the customers.
In this fashion they made the clients pay 7,738 GEL. The tourists were from India, Arabia and Turkey in August 2021.
In addition, the investigation found that on September 11 the two individuals stole 15,000 GEL from a Chinese citizen using his plastic card.
The crime is punishable by seven to 10 years in prison.
