Driver’s license to be mandatory for moped, quad-bike drivers starting March 1, 2022

Driver’s licenses will be mandatory for all types of moped and quad-bike drivers in Georgia starting March 1, 2022.

In addition drivers will have to register their mopeds with the Service Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Also the practical part of the exam for granting driving license will be two-stage.

The bill on making driver’s license mandatory for all types of moped and quad-bikes was proposed to the parliament in 2019.

The impetus behind the new laws is Georgia’s responsibilities to the EU under the Association Agreement.
