Wizz Air considering new flights from Georgia's Kutaisi airport to Europe

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is ready to add new routes and new flights to Europe from Kutaisi International Airport in western Georgia, announces the Ministry of Economy of Georgia. 

Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili has hosted the top management of Wizz Air who are paying a two-day visit to Georgia. 

Wizz Air officials visited the recently renovated airport in Kutaisi and were informed about the ongoing construction of the railway station near the airport, 'which will be completed very soon', said the ministry.

We had a very fruitful meeting. I think that we will see new routes from  Wizz Air at Kutaisi airport this year, which will have a very positive impact on the growth of tourism in our country and, of course, on strengthening the aviation sector", Kvrivishvili said.

As for the new branch of Georgian Railway's main line that will reach Kutaisi International Airport, the ministry announces that, new station will receive the first passengers this fall.
