102-year-old Georgian woman Emine Jorbenadze has got her first dose of Pfizer vaccine in the high-mountainous Georgian region of Adjara.
She is now the eldest Georgian woman vaccinated against Covid-19, says the Ministry of Health of Adjara.
Jorbenadze claims that she has survived two pandemics in her long life and is going to survive a third.
During my long life, I have witnessed the third pandemic. I believe that the vaccine will protect me, so I came and got vaccinated. I feel good, I will live for many more years”, she said.

Jorbenadze called on all elderly people to get vaccinated, as 'this is the only way to escape the virus'.
There are 64 centenarians living in Adjara at the age of 100 and older.
Almost five months after the start of vaccination in Georgia, 204,234 people have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
Registration for the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine has started today in Georgia, while vaccination will begin on August 15. The registration is available via https://booking.moh.gov.ge. Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia said that an average of 20,000 people a day have been vaccinated in the country over the last three days, which is 'a good indicator'.
Georgia has reported 5,697 new cases of coronavirus out of 44,536 tests and 54 deaths in the past 24 hours which is a record high figure since January 2021. 2,713 individuals have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. 40,279 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia currently. In total 6,128 individuals have died from the virus in the country since the spring of 2020.

Georgia reported 5,352 new cases of coronavirus, 2,635 recoveries and 48 deaths in the past 24 hours, while 45,832 remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. She added that as of today more than 3,000 people are undergoing inpatient treatment in the capital city of Tbilisi, about 900 in Adjara, and 1,000 patients in the Imereti region of Georgia.
