102-year-old Georgian woman gets vaccinated against Covid-19

102-year-old Georgian woman Emine Jorbenadze has got her first dose of Pfizer vaccine in the high-mountainous Georgian region of Adjara.

She is now the eldest Georgian woman vaccinated against Covid-19, says the Ministry of Health of Adjara.

Jorbenadze claims that she has survived two pandemics in her long life and is going to survive a third.

During my long life, I have witnessed the third pandemic. I believe that the vaccine will protect me, so I came and got vaccinated. I feel good, I will live for many more years”, she said.

Jorbenadze called on all elderly people to get vaccinated, as 'this is the only way to escape the virus'.

There are 64 centenarians living in Adjara at the age of 100 and older.

Almost five months after the start of vaccination in Georgia, 204,234 people have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccines in the country.
