Tbilisi City Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that technical inspection is mandatory for licensed taxis and if they don’t pass inspection in the nearest future, licenses will be revoked for taxi drivers.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the City Hall has given taxi drivers an opportunity to avoid mandatory technical inspection. Technical injection dates were postponed for taxi drivers. However, today is the time for taxi drivers to pass a technical inspection, otherwise their licenses will be revoked”, said Kaladze.
Kaladze has called on responsible individuals to set new deadlines for drivers and provide them with timely information.
It is mandatory for licensed taxi drivers to pass technical inspection twice a year.

New rules will come into effect for taxis today, differing per category A and category B license holders.
More than 2,600 category A taxi drivers have received painting vouchers in a city-subsidised programme that ended on August 10.
