Coronavirus: 2,617 new cases of 43,394 tests in 24 hours

Georgia has reported a total of 2,617 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting 43,394 tests over the last 24 hours.

Out of the new 2,617 cases 1,485 were reported in Tbilisi.

Other cases were reported in:

Adjara – 236
Imereti – 220
Kvemo Kartli – 153
Kakheti - 152
Shida Kartli – 123
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 111
Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 45
Samtskhe-Javakheti - 44
Guria – 31
Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 17

Meanwhile, 869 people have recovered and nine individuals have died.

As of now, the number of total confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Georgia stands at 400,698, including 371,434 recoveries, 5,665 deaths and 23,573 active cases.

Health and state officials call on the citizens eligible for vaccination to register at booking.moh.gov.ge and receive any of the four vaccines currently available in Georgia - Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac – and protect their health and the health of their beloved ones.

He also noted that the share of children in the daily coronavirus infection rate is 10-12 per cent.

19,375 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 9,807 of the 19,375 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 9,568 were PCR tests. The country has had 404,023 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 5.73 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.374,753 of the 404,023 patients have recovered, while 5,714 have died from the virus.

Lebanese, Jordanian citizens will be able to enter Georgia with negative PCR tests

Lebanon and Jordan have been added to the list of countries whose citizens can enter Georgia with negative PCR tests, the coordination council decided today. Citizens and residents of 40 countries can now enter Georgia with negative PCR tests, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs site says.
