90 workplace deaths in Georgia between 2019-2021

Ninety individuals have died in Georgia at the workplace between 2019 and June 4 of 2021, IPN news agency has cited Georgia’s Labour Inspection as saying.
35 deaths were reported in the capital Tbilisi.
The remaining fatalities were reported in:
- Imereti - 19 deaths.
- Kvemo Kartli - 10 deaths.
- Adjara - 6 deaths.
- Shida Kartli - 6 deaths.
- Samtskhe Javakheti - 4 deaths.
- Guria - 2 deaths.
- Kakheti - 3 deaths.
Eighty-four individuals died at the workplace between 2018 and June 2019.
A worker has fallen from a construction worksite in Nadzaladevi district in Tbilisi earlier today.
The Labour Conditions Inspection Department carried out a total of 1,254 inspections and reinspections at construction sites in 2019, says the Ministry of Health.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has presented a 5-year report of the Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health, saying 'we have introduced labour safety in Georgia'.
84 individuals have died at the workplace in one and a half years, between 2018 and June 2019, the Georgian Interior Ministry told IPN news agency.270 individuals have received injuries due to incidents at the workplace in the same period.In total, 59 died and 199 received injuries at the workplace in 2018, while 25 died and 71 received injuries between January and June of 2019.
The Labour Inspection Office of Georgia has reported 15 examples of unequal treatment in 2021. The inspection analysed the requirements of 100 publicly available job vacancies, as well as cases of alleged workplace abuse.
