Georgia reports 1,562 new cases of coronavirus of 29,685 tests

Georgia has reported 1,562 new cases of coronavirus, 1,490 recoveries and 30 deaths in the past 24 hours.
29,685 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 21,443 of the 29,685 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 8,242 were PCR tests.
The country has had 332,441 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
4.85 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
312,349 of the 332,441 patients have recovered, while 4,499 have died from the virus.

- Tbilisi - 893 cases
- Adjara - 102 cases
- Imereti - 136 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 98 cases
- Shida Kartli - 52 cases
- Guria - 31 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 123 cases
- Kakheti - 75 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 35 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 10 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 7 cases

4,343 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 917 of the 4,343 patients are in critical condition. 212 of the 917 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
23,637 individuals are in self-isolation.
4,621,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
Georgian health officials have warned of a potential third wave of coronavirus in the country if individuals refuse to receive the vaccine and act in line with recommendations.
Georgia has received the 100,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine earlier today. However, Sinopharm vaccination will not start until it received approval from the World Health Organisation.
The Georgian government is negotiating with Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers and is going to import an additional one million doses of Pfizer in June or July, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said today.
The Georgian government has decided to shorten the curfew from between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. to between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Restaurants and cafes will be able to receive consumers in their open spaces throughout the week. Earlier they were unable to receive consumers on the weekend. Georgia first imposed curfew in March 2020.
Georgia has reported 1,160 new cases of coronavirus, 1,302 recoveries and 20 deaths in the past 24 hours. 28,209 tests have been conducted around the country on the weekend. 18,023 of the 28,209 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,186 were PCR tests. The country has had 332,601 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 4.58 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
