Shalva Lomidze appointed as new head of Intelligence Service

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has appointed Shalva Lomidze as the Head of the Intelligence Service of Georgia.

So far, Shalva Lomidze has been the Acting Head of the Georgian Intelligence Service.

In 2014-2020, Lomidze served as the First Deputy Head of the Intelligence Service.

At various times Lomidze was the Head of the Main Division of the Information and Analytics Department on the Interior Ministry. He also worked in various positions in the Counterintelligence Department of the Agency, as well as in the Counterintelligence Service of the State Security Service.
