A Georgian platoon has returned from its six-month tour of duty within the European Union training mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA).
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili welcomed service members upon their arrival at Tbilisi International Airport last night.
Our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters: thank you for your service. Tonight, some of you come back from the Central African Republic ????????. It is through you that peace is preserved across the world. pic.twitter.com/uHhuuW92zv

Georgian platoons have been taking part in the EU mission since January 2017, taking over from a quick reaction force unit that participated in the EU External Action in the republic in March 2015.
The first Georgian contribution to the mission in the Central African Republic took place starting in 2014, when service members from Georgia joined the EU Military Operation in the state.
