Occupying forces illegally detain Georgian citizen in Gori municipality

Russian occupation forces have illegally detained a citizen of  the village of Bershueti in the Gori municipality today. The Georgian State Security Service has confirmed detention of a Georgian woman.

We confirm the fact of illegal detention. The hotline has been set up. We have informed the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM). Work underway to release the Georgian citizen”, reads the official statement of the State Security Service.

The Russian occupation forces illegally placed a new so-called border sign in the village of Bershueti on July 3, 2017. Due to the illegal border sign, parts of several local farmers’ agricultural lands had fallen behind the occupation line.
