Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava has visited Qatar, meeting with local authorities to discuss aspects of cooperation in the fields of transport, ports and communications and means of further enhancing them.
Turanava met with the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti.
The two ministers discussed investment opportunities available in the fields of transport and communications, in addition to boosting cooperation on the Black Sea Express Service, which connects harbors between Greece, Turkey, Georgia and Russia.
Turnava also met with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and officials from the local business society. Turnava said that investors from Qatar are interested in investing in Georgia.
They see potential in the construction sector and the hotel industry”, said Turnava.
The Georgian delegation returned to Georgia today.
Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, is increasing flight frequency to Georgia to deal with steadily increasing demand.
Georgian citizens can visit Qatar visa-free for 30 days from now on as Qatar has waived visa requirements from Georgia.
Georgian blueberries, tomatoes and greens have a high chance of making an impression in Qatar.
Georgia and Qatar are deepening links in the agricultural sector by signing two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) in the fields of veterinary health and livestock production, and economic scientific and technical cooperation in agriculture.
