Tbilisi City Hall has started the construction of the first Community Sports Centre in Tbilisi’s Varketili district today. The cost of the project is 12 million GEL ($4,184,392), reports the press office of the City Hall.
The Community Sports Centre will cover 15,000 square meters, and will serve over 10,000 people per month.
The multifunctional centre will include gyms for football, volleyball, basketball and gymnastics. The City Hall plans to construct spaces for fitness, wrestling and judo as well as boxing rings.

The press office of the City Hall says that the centre will be designed not only for sports enthusiasts, but also for those who are interested in arts.
The building process will end in the summer of 2021.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that City Hall plans to construct similar centres in other districts of the capital as well.
