Polish Foreign Ministry calls on Georgian authorities to investigate all complaints in parliamentary elections

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland has released a statement on the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on October 31, which reads that 'we share the assessments of international organisations' that the elections were competitive and fundamental freedoms, international standards were respected, but the statement also draws attention to 'worrying reports on irregularities and violations'.
We call on the Georgian authorities to investigate all the complaints, with due scrutiny and with proper respect to the institutional process, as well as according to prevailing procedures. That would enhance transparency and trust in the electoral process, especially before the second round scheduled on November 21", reads the statement.

Local NGOs have called for a recount of election results in over 100 polling stations following the parliamentary elections on October 31.
All eight opposition parties who crossed the one per cent election threshold in the October 31 parliament elections have signed an agreement earlier today not to take up their mandates in parliament. 12 other opposition parties, who were unable to enter the legislative body, also signed the agreement and stated that the elections ‘were not legitimate as they were fabricated.’ All 20 signatory parties have stated that they will continue to fight against the government.
Former Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen has written on his Facebook page in Georgian that Saturday's parliamentary elections in Georgia were ‘competitive and free’ and that the elections once again showed the commitment of the Georgian people to Euro-Atlantic integration.
The National Democratic Institute (NDI) has released an analysis report on Georgia’s parliamentary elections, which reads that alleged irregularities in results summaries, widespread reports of potentially intimidating behaviour in or around polling stations, delays in the publication of results, and persistent perceptions of pre-election abuses of power detracted from notable improvements in the legal framework and administrative procedures for Georgia’s parliamentary elections.
Polish President Andrzej Duda says that his country is ready to share some of its coronavirus vaccines with Georgia.Duda made the statement during his meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in Tbilisi earlier today. He stated that Georgia and Poland should further strengthen ties, especially in the tourism field. Zurabishvili stated that Georgia has lifted all restrictions for tourists who have received their coronavirus vaccines, adding that the country is open for Polish tourists as well.
