The reopening of theatres and cinemas, which was planned for November 1 has been postponed due to the severe epidemiological situation in Georgia.

The Georgian Ministry of Education says that the date when theatres and cinemas open will be determined based on the coronavirus situation in the country.

As of now, per the recommendation of the Health Ministry, it is allowed to hold cultural events in open areas with the participation of no more than 200 people.

Moreover, museums and nature reserves are still open for visitors. Film productions and indoor rehearsals are also allowed.

However, other cultural events can only be held remotely.

Theatres and movie theatres have been closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
