The ruling Georgian Dream party has accepted the challenge of the opposition parties Lelo and Strategy Agmashenebeli to participate in debates in the coming days.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said political debates would be held between the ruling GD party and opposition leaders, Mamuka Khazaradze and Giorgi Vashadze.
Gakharia noted that he has never avoided meaningful discussions, ‘especially with these gentlemen’.
In general, political debates, including party debates, are one of the most important elements in the election process. We must also keep in mind that debates should be meaningful and based on truth”, Gakharia said.
Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli challenged Gakharia to a party debate to the Georgian Public Broadcaster on October 15, while Lelo party leader Mamuka Khazaradze offered Georgian dream party leader and founder Bidzina Ivanishvili to participate in the debates to discuss how Georgia can overcome the current economic crisis.
