NATO Secretary General to host Georgian PM in Brussels next week
After the meeting the Georgian PM and NATO Secretary General will make joint statements.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia at NATO headquarters in Brussels on September 29, the NATO press office has reported.
Gakharia will be accompanied by Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.
Stoltenberg visited Georgia last year, during NATO-Georgia joint exercises.
He stated then that Georgia has achieved big progress and the country should continue reforms in the defence, judiciary and other fields to fully comply with NATO standards.
Earlier in the spring Stoltenberg praised the efforts of the Georgian government against the coronavirus, saying that the country was coping with the virus successfully.

Stoltenberg phoned Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani to relay this message and say that the NATO foreign ministerial on April 3-4 will be held in a restricted manner, Georgian Foreign Ministry said. “NATO stands by the Georgian government and its people in the fight against the coronavirus,” the foreign ministry cited Stoltenberg as saying.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that all states party to the Open Skies Treaty ‘must fully implement their commitments and obligations’, while Russia has imposed flight restrictions ‘inconsistent with the Treaty’.
NATO Foreign Ministers have decided to deepen their partnerships with Georgia and Ukraine including with exercises in the strategic Black Sea region. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this includes joint work to counter hybrid warfare, as well as efforts to share more air traffic radar data, “making the skies safer for all”.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili stated today that Georgia and Azerbaijan ‘are historical and strategic partners’. Welcoming the meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov Salome Zurabishvili said the finalisation of the border delimitation process between the two neighbouring countries is in their ‘mutual strategic interest’.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia addressed a high-level Open Government Summit which was held in the frames of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly earlier today. PM Gakharia stressed Georgia's commitment to the principles of the Open Government Partnership initiative and the success achieved by the country on the path to democratic development.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will meet with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvil in Brussels on January 22, the NATO press office has reported. Previously Stoltenberg and Zurabishvili met in January 2019. Stoltenberg met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia also at NATO headquarters back in September 2020.
