8,000 GEL worth of cheese stolen from shepherd's house in Kakheti

Davit Topchishvili, a shepherd living in the village of Shilda in Kvareli municipality in eastern Kakheti region, told RFE/RL that 8,000 GEL (about $2,477) worth of Guda cheese (produced from sheep's milk) was stolen from his house 10 days ago.

Topchishvili told RFE/RL that the theft took place at night, when his mother and wife were at home. 

He also said that the thieves made off with his cheese in such a way so that nobody in his family heard anything.
