Court sentences 2 for 15 years in prison for attempted premeditated murder of first president’s son

Tato Gharibashvili and Giorgi Sologashvili, detained for the attempted premeditated murder of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president of Georgia on December 21, have been sentenced to 15 years in prison today.
Two other individuals, Kakha Chkhetiani and Petre Kuparadze, accused of failure to report the above-mentioned crime, have also been sentenced to four and five years in prison.

As a result of serious head injuries, Gamsakhurdia was in critical condition for several months. As of now, his health condition has relatively improved.
Giorgi Sologashvili, one of five individuals detained for their suspected involvement in the stabbing of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia last week, has admitted to stabbing Gamsakhurdia, but he said it was not attempted premeditated murder, with which he has been charged by the prosecutor’s office.
Police have detained one for the attempted premeditated murder of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, and four others for not reporting the crime.
Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, son of the first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia, was wounded in Tbilisi earlier today. Georgian media reported based on the Interior Ministry that investigation has been launched on deliberate attempt of murder.
Georgian police have detained an individual for attempted premeditated murder and illegale possession of firearms in the western Georgian region of Samegrelo.
