Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has stated that Russian media continues to spread disinformation ‘to sow distrust’ between Georgia and its strategic partners.
In a statement released today President Zurabishvili referred to an article of Gosnovosti webpage about ‘a false letter’ from the EU Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas.
We call on our ???????? partners to strongly condemn these attempts by the Russian side to hinder the development of our close relations between Georgia and the EU.

In the letter Schinas thanks Zurabishvili for approving his draft report ‘on the formation of camps for refugees from the Middle East on the territory of Georgia for the purpose of their further relocation to their homeland across the border with Turkey’.
Condemning Russian disinformation campaign against Georgia, President Zurabishvili said Moscow aims to trigger distrust in population, as well as to cause anti-western sentiments.
Therefore, she called on the international community ‘to strongly condemn’ Russia’s attempts to affect ‘close relations’ between Georgia and the EU.
