Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that more than 200 people from around the world have applied to the recently launched 'Remotely from Georgia' state programme that allows foreign citizens to travel to and work remotely from Georgia.
Foreigners from 95 countries are allowed to apply for the programme if they intend to stay in Georgia for at least 180 days.
The idea of the programme was that since Georgia is one of the most successful countries in terms of virus management, we have offered citizens of 95 countries to continue working from Georgia for at least 180 days and the result has exceeded expectations. We have already received more than 200 applications from all over the world, ranging from America to Singapore", Gakharia said.
Remotely from Georgia is designed for freelancers, full-time employees or business owners who are able to stay in Georgia for at least 360 days without a visa per their passport or other travel document.
A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter Georgia long-term will have to fill out an application form available at www.stopcov.ge and obtain preliminary confirmation required for crossing the border.
