President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has responded to ongoing events in Belarus by releasing a statement expressing hope the country's "democratic and European future" is not harmed in the process.
Zurabishvili's administration posted her reaction to ongoing protests across Belarus on Monday, with the statement expressing hope that "Belarus and its people will be able to decide their own future democratically".
We hope the ongoing process in Belarus will be completed in a way that doesn’t hinder Belarus’s democratic and European future. We distance ourselves from all forms of violence. We believe that Belarus and its people will be able to decide their own future democratically.

The response to widespread protests also said Georgia "respects European values" and "stays true to democratic principles" serving as basis for "development, progress and return to European family" for the two countries.
Protests began in cities of Belarus amid presidential elections earlier this month.
