Georgian rugby player Beka Burdiashvii has died in a car accident in France on January 26.
Burdiashvili was a player on the French Graulhet (SC Graulhet).
He was reportedly traveling to a match against Lavaur on Sunday morning when the fatal accident occurred. His car went off the road and turned over. Police said that the athlete died on the spot.

Due to the accident the Graulhet-Lavaur match was not held.
Guy Laporte, Graulhet’s president said that Beka Burdiashvili was a very strong and experienced player who lived for rugby.

We were preparing for the match when I heard about this tragedy. It’s a hard blow for the team”, said Laporte.
Sporting Club Graulhet has decided to transfer the proceeds from the next match to Burdiashvili’s family.
Beka Burdiashvili was 27 years old. He had been playing for SC Graulhet since 2014.
