The Russian-controlled occupation forces have resumed the erection of illegal barriers in the Takhtrisdziri village of Kareli municipality, central Georgia, near the currently occupied Tskhinvali region of Georgia.

The Takhtrisdziri village borders the currently Russian-occupied Gvirgvina village of Znauri district.

The occupation forces began the erection of barriers near the Takhtrisdziri village in April 2020, seizing 10 hectares of land.

The EUMM hotline has been activated regarding the recent incident.

Russia redoubled its occupation efforts during the pandemic which has been condemned by the international community.
