The body of a 19-year-old girl who had been reported missing three days ago in Georgia’s western city of Poti has been found dead in the Rioni River today.
About 46 rescue professionals and four divers had been looking for the body of missing Natia Shavadze since August 4.
On August 4 a witness of the incident told the media that a young girl was sitting on the railing of the bridge and fell into the river.
An investigation has been launched into leading to suicide.
Three days have passed since Georgian rescuers have been searching for 19-year-old Natia Shavadze in the Rioni River in the western city of Poti.
Rescuers have checked 38 villages and seven rivers in the search for 13-year-old Ilia Pilpani from the Svaneti region of western Georgia who went missing on July 18.
A total of 54 individuals were reported missing between January-June of 2020 in Georgia, out of which 34 were found by police, while search operations for 20 individuals are still underway.
Rescuers from Georgia's emergency services are looking for traces of Ilia Pilpani, a teenager missing since last week, in the highland Svaneti province in the north and on the Black Sea coastline in the west of the country.
