A 19-year-old prisoner escaped from Tbilisi City Court before a judge issued a verdict, reports TV Formula.
Tbilisi City Court has not officially confirmed the information to the media, though several employees of the court told a journalist that they had heard about the incident.
The incident took place in the yard of Tbilisi City court. The prisoner escaped from a police car when law enforcers were out to smoke a cigarette.TV Formula says the man was arrested for theft several days ago. His parents told the media that the case of his escape is ‘very strange’ and that they have been trying to find their son over the past four days.
An investigation is underway into ‘indifference of law enforcers’ and ‘the escape of an individual from a place of detention.’
If convicted, the police officers responsible for allowing his escape face three to six years of imprisonment.
