The construction of a car components factory has launched in Poti, Western Georgia which will export its goods to EU countries, China, the US and Mexico.
The plant will be equipped with European standard, environmentally friendly modern technology.
The factory is being built by SDT Georgia.
At the initial stage, the company plans to export goods worth $5 million per year, and 60 people will be employed at the factory which will increase to 100 people by 2021.
The building process will end in September 2020.
Construction work will be carried out by Ecohouse.

The electric car factory in Kutaisi, western Georgia, will produce its first electric car in August, said State Representative in Imereti Zviad Shalamberidze, adding that at that time the factory will also start producing additional components for cars.
The date of production of the first electric car in Georgia has been postponed to 2022, announces Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava. She said that the coronavirus pandemic prevented the investor from starting the production of electric cars and the company will be given extra time to fulfill its obligations.
