A group of civic activists have dumped hundreds of flyers using a drone with inscriptions and the image of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin near the  Stalin Museum in his hometown, Gori.

The first page of the flyer is an excerpt from Joseph Stalin’s letter sent to Vadimir Lenin written in February 28, 1921:

Artvin (historical south-western Georgian province Tao-Klarjeti) may be handed over to Turkey, but Turkey will not be allowed to go further. Batumi (Georgia’s seaside town) is vital for us, as lots of oil reservoirs are located there”.

The second page of the flyer contains information about conflicts provoked by Russia in the former Soviet republics and the Russian-occupied territories of Georgia and Ukraine.

The civic activists, who preferred not to be identified, told RFE/RL that the main aim of the rally was to dispel myths about Stalin and to expose Russian disinformation against Georgia.

On May 28 the US-based Lugar Laboratory, officially called the Centre for Public Health Research, was on several occasions mentioned by the Russian press as a place where ‘dangerous experiments are conducted’. Russia says they want to visit the lab ‘without the presence of international organisations, in a bilateral format’.
