Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that the government has plans to conduct a large-scale study with international partners on the coronavirus’ effect on different aspects of the country.

For instance, the coronavirus’ influence on the social-political life of the country, human rights, childrens’ rights, legal issues and others,” Gakharia said earlier today.

He stated that he expects the country’s international partners and donors will help the government to carry out the study soon.

Such studies will, on the one hand, help us prepare better for a possible second wave of the virus, and, on the other hand, to share our experience with international partners,” Gakharia said.

He stated that the government will deliver a comprehensive report of its activities against the coronavirus between January and May of 2020 and present it to parliament.

Gakharia stated that putting the report together presented a possibility for the government to see the achievements and drawbacks at the same time ‘which will allow us to act even more effectively if there is a second wave of the virus.’
